2020-08-10 What is ISO 14001? ISO 14001:2015 is the international standard for Environmental Management. It sets out the policies and procedures you need to implement to enhance your environmental performance. The ISO 14001 standard helps you identify your objectives and determine the processes and resources required to manage your environmental impact. ISO 14001 was revised in 2015 and as of the ISO Survey Results released in 2018, ISO 14001 has been utilized by over 300,000 companies with over 440,000 physical sites certified around the world. These guidelines are all-inclusive and generic such that they can be applied to any industry and can be adopted by any organization regardless of its sector, location or size.

ISO 14001 does not replace ISO 9000. However, a company that is already ISO 9000 registered or has a Quality Management System in place does have a good foundation for ISO 14001.
